one of the best spicy books i've ever read. i can't help but love a little horror in anything i read and this was done INSANELY well. im looking forward to Rat Race as much as i was looking forward to Hide N Seek coming out.
Eden Emory is an aquired taste, and if there is a pun in that statement, it is unintended. I've read several of her books, so I sort of knew what to expect. The cruelty, perversion, and torture in this dystopian universe were ramped up significantly from her other books, so what's wrong with me that I loved it. The rather consistant mis-spells and mis-use of words seem to be a staple in her unedited novels. (i.e "surly" intead of "surely"; " Vic and I's " instead of "Vic and my"). Added to that is the plural pronoun usage for one of the MCs - Kohl - so that the reader is left to wonder if "they" refers to Kohl or a group of people. It is rather jarring and takes the reader out of the action to try to figure the writer's intent. Oh well. The main characters are well written and thought-out. The plot and plot twists all work, and the passion, though totally unconventional, is off the charts. This is a "fun" and fast-paced read if you're open to a really, really different romance.
Absolutely loved this book. The twists and turns were great (as well as the spice) and I already can’t wait for the next in the series. As always anytime I see Eden Emory on the cover I know it will not disappoint but this one is definitely worth 5 stars…. READ IT!!!
I’m obsessed. I need the sequel now. It was the perfect blend of darkness, spicy content, and great characters. I love the main characters and their story. The spicy scenes were 😳 and so perfectly placed despite being in a death game!
Nail biting, dark and dangerously sensual. No sensitivity here, it is ballsy, fierce and loyal. Truest form of trust and unconditional love towards one another. It’s dirty and raw - powerfully written leaving you wanting more.
I was so obsessed with this!! I loved the degrading and the chemistry between Vic and kohl!! I also enjoyed the suspense! Looking forward to RatRace!!!
I received an ARC of this from the authors (all opinions are my own) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ Listen this book is UNHINGED and I loved every second of it! So we have: Kohl- uses they/he pronouns and is an unhinged masc bottom who loves being called kitten, good boy, pretty boy. And it actually makes me 🫠 Vic- uses she her and is an absolutely unhinged femme top! vibes when kohl calls her goddess and mistress which just UGHHHH 🥵 I enjoyed seeing the flashbacks of their friendship and then seeing it evolve into a relationship and it felt natural despite being the some of the most deprived and unhinged stuff I’ve read 🤣 I can’t wait to read about the (redacted) in the next book!!! The family dynamics are yikes at best we meet Kohl’s brother, Dylan and he’s honestly THE WORST! And Kohl’s dad isn’t much better! Also what we learn about what happened to Vic’s dad is heartbreaking 💔 I love these authors whenever they write together it always ends up being a great book and they are both immediate buy authors for me personally.
