Paved in Fire: A Dark Mafia Romance (Melnikov Bratva Book 5)
It’s time to bring Alina home. Alina: When I was young, I fell in love with a dark-eyed boy. I never grew out of that crush. Not even when the teenaged boy grew up to be a very dangerous man. Every year it just grew stronger until I finally turned eighteen and forced him to see me as the woman I’d become and not just as his best friend’s little sister. We were so happy together, but then I was taken. Ripped from him in the cruelest of ways. But he’s looking for me. I know he is, and I know he’ll burn the world down to get to me. I just need to hold on a little bit longer. Matvey: I searched for her for two years. Each day felt like a lifetime. I was losing my mind, imagining all the things that were being done to her. But I finally found her. And now it’s time to bring her home. They took her from me, and they’re going to pay. I’m getting Alina back, and then we’re going to set the world on fire and watch them burn. This is the conclusion to the 5-book Melnikov Bratva series. Each book features a different brother, and although each love story will be complete, the storyline started in the first book will not be completed until book 5. These books should be read in order. WARNING: This is a very steamy dark Bratva romance, and it does contain triggering content. Please see warning at beginning of novel and read responsibly.

Why You'll Love This
This was one hell of book, my gosh the pain she went through and the hope she never let go of she knew Mataviey and the brothers would find her, ( name spelled wrong ) no one gave up. It took me 2 and a half days to get through this book I had to keep putting it done I couldn't handle what she went through it was so heartbreaking, after everything she went through to try and cut him out of her life what she did to her wrist so she didn't have to look at him on her body, when he told her you go I go I broke down again I cried so much with this book couldn't wait to get to there happy ending. He was so patient with her his love never waivers concerning her. When she went to face that bastard and stand up to him we knew she was going to be better, showing him after everything he put her through the raping and the beatings starving her, and basically terrorizing her she proved to him she wasn't broken the only thing she couldn't get back that he took was her virginity it didn't matter because she had her first time with the love of her life. I was so glad she took her life back by torturing him. I fell in love with Finn how adorable was he. I'm also glad Dominic got some payback with the man who killed his sister. Loved what they all did at the auction, and the red viper, kill all of them and burn the places down to the ground. Curious to see who Dominic falls in love with. What a great ending for all of them.
Getting to Matvey and Alina’s story was a road paved in blood, venom, rage, hate, and fire. Each and every moment leading up to this final book were heart wrenching but also beautiful. Matvey went through hell once surging the fire that killed his mom and sister, so when he can no longer ignore his feelings for Alina, the only woman he has ever let touch him, things feel so right. He’s waiting for her to be ready before they both become each others first. His world is thrown into chaos and complete and utter despair when he shows up to meet her only to find her gone without a single trace. For two long years the Melnikov Bratva tear their way through Russia and then to America to track down the traffickers who stole her. This book was the one I was most excited to read but I also knew I wouldn’t make it out with out crying a few times. Alina fought hard and in the end she never gave up. Knowing that her brother and matvey would never stop until they found her. Once rescued she begins the long journey to healing. It’s rough, the triggers are heavy and the pain she suffered so real at times I found I couldn’t breath during her flash backs. Matvey was gentle and never left her side. It takes a Willie for them to get to a place where they could become intimate. But when they finally do it’s both sweet and spicy. The extended epilogues really brought the whole story full circle and made paved in fire the best ending to the Melnikov Bratva series.
The close of the Melnikov Bratva series deserves a round of applause! We all have been waiting eagerly for Alina to come home, to be reunited with Matvey. He has searched for two years, clinging to hope and working to the point of exhaustion to avoid falling into despair. Functioning with only half his heart and soul has driven him to the breaking point until they finally located Alina. What she has suffered, it is almost impossible to bear. This woman is so freaking strong, she clung to the knowledge that her family was looking for her. She might have been treated horribly, like barely more than an animal but she has survived. Their reunion was overwhelming in its intensity. The comfort they found in finally being able to hold each other, you could practically see how that physical touch was healing them both. While she had a long way to go, she has the complete and total support from their entire family. She slowly works to regain herself, to free herself from the painful memories with Matvey constantly at her side. Their story was everything I hoped for and more! Their connection, their love truly returned them both to the land of the living. What a beautiful and fitting end to this series! It has been a glorious ride with fantastic characters that will live in my heart and mind forever.
Be prepared for a beautiful, emotional finish to this incredible five-book series. These books MUST be read in order to really experience the Melnikov Bratva to it’s fullest extent. In Book #1, you meet the five brothers and Alina, Roman’s sister. All of them, plus their eventual wives, are featured prominently in all five books. All books have their own HEA, but the overall plot is not complete until this fifth book. The main plot is centered around human trafficking and the Melnikov’s plan to find their sister Alina, who was stolen from them. Sonja Grey has managed to incorporate the dark subject of trafficking and the sweet, strong love and loyalty amongst the brothers. There is plenty of humor and bantering between them, as well as 🔥 hot, hot spice 🔥with the brothers and the women they love more than their own lives. Sonja Grey does not let us forget that the world of the Russian Bratva is a violent one. Be prepared for explicit violence when those they love are threatened. I am an avid reader, and this series has touched me deeper than any other. Don’t miss out, you won’t be sorry.
I received this book as an advanced reader copy on my kindle but also have bought the paperback as I knew even without reading it that Sonja was going to blow it out of the water. I read the entire book in one night. I laughed. I cried. I cheered. I was mesmerised from start to finish. While there are some dark themes as well as on page s3xual a$$ault, it’s written in such a way that it’s not super graphic and traumatic for the reader. But it needs to be there so you can see just what Alina has been through and it made me admire her even more for the strength and resilience she shows. As with all of Sonja Greys books, the on page retribution is almost therapeutic to read. We’ve all been waiting for Matveys wrath since book one and my gosh, it did not disappoint. Without spoiling it, the Lebedev brothers get their punishment from the person who deserved most to dish it out. This is something I had been secretly hoping for since the start of the series and was super happy to see it come to fruition. This book also contains several epilogues from all five of the brothers points of views so you get to see them all get the happy ending they deserve. Cannot wait for Dominic’s book. I think all the SJ fans can agree that we have grown to love Dominic and the unlikely alliance he has with the Russian brothers. While it’s not on page, he does get some revenge for what happened to his sister and I hope this is advanced on in his book. I’m sad that the series has come to an end for now, but there is so much opportunity to look into Dominic’s story as well as the next generation of melnikovs. All in all this is a five star read and wraps up the entire series in a nice little bow. Everyone gets their happy ending and Alina is an absolute beast for what she has endured and how she comes out of her shell. Thankyou Sonja. You did Matvey and Alina justice.
i couldn’t put the book down . i needed to know the ending . and so worth it from reading all the books . Love you sonja your my favourite. how you have this amazing mind to tell these stories please never stop writing
What a series finale! Vitaly has been my favourite until I read Matvey and Alina's story. The whole series plot has been around a missing sister and on each brother's story on how they inched closer in finally finding & freeing her. The topic of sex trafficking is so sensitive and I was not sure how I was going to feel reading about it. But Sonja did such a great job in delicately unravelling Matveys and Alina's bond. The focus was always on how they overcame all struggles through their true love to one another. The dialogues between Matvey & Alina were so natural that I paused at times to fully feel the emotions behind it. Must praise Sonja truly and I wonder how she felt while writing these stories, especially Alina's side. Also want to add, Salute to all the survivors of sexual crime who fought and overcame their struggles mentally, emotionally, physically. There is so much to life,so don't let go of hope ever. Cant wait to read Dominic' s story now, as well as next generation series. Once again, well done Sonja! X
I absolutely LOVED this 5 book series. It was deep and dark and harrowing but full of steamy scenes and love and the unfolding of each character was just beautiful…. Love Sonja’s books!
Genuinely didn’t think I could ever love anyone as much as I loved Vitally but Matvey is right up there! What can I say except another five star read from Sonja. I have been eagerly awaiting Matvey’s story and It did not disappoint. I absolutely loved the story Matvey & Alina were absolutely perfect for each other. The way he loved her was beautiful. I cannot get enough of these books and am absolutely gutted this is the last book in the series although I cannot wait for the next generation. I have read a few books that broach the subject of trafficking , and sometimes these can be rushed or the writing doesn’t always do them justice. Sonja’s was absolutely spot on! The way she concentrated on Alina’s healing was everything, Bravo! Glad we got the most beautiful ending to this series. I have purchased these books and they will now join my favourite books for my re reads i cannot get enough. Sonja had become one of my auto-buy and favourite Authors. 5 Stars
