Another one done and in the books for Luna Pierce. This is a standalone that can be read by itself in the Sinners and Angels series. The FMC is someone we have met previously in the series and is June’s best friend Cora! I really love how all the guys know each other in the books she has written in this series but are never intended to have one female in the group. The group just sort of builds itself. This is a RH Mafia Romance. In repayment to a mafia boss and to save her mother Cora has to make a deal in order to save her family. we have Alec, who is the driver for her best friend. Silver the guy who is called to help. And finally Miller, a billionaire mafia boss himself and someone who is absolutely obsessed with Cora. I could have and would have finished this in one sitting. The only reason I didn’t is becuase I had to get to sleep and I couldn’t stay up. But to say that i devoured this in record time would be an understatement. I love Luna Pierce’s Sinners and Angels world and it never fails no matter how big or small the book it always captures my attention and keeps it the whole entire time. I really can’t wait for London’s story!! It will be on my highly anticipated books for 2024!!
I don't even know what to say. I've loved every book in the sinners and angels universe and this book is no different. I loved Cora from the moment we met her in Junes books and I love her even more in her own. Cora is such a relatable character, the way she sacrifices her own happiness for everyone she loves and the way she hides her pain just so no one will worry about her. And let's talk about her men. Because let's face it same as Cora I couldn't begin to choose. Alec is such a sweetheart, but the moment that switch was flipped and he went into full blown protective mode. Shewwww. And Silver he was drawn to her instantly. I loved how he, for the most part, was alway honest and upfront with Cora and trying to always keep her in the loop, and not afraid to let her get her hands dirty. And lastly but certainly not least Miller I love him and his stalkerish ways. Theirs nothing that he wouldn't do for her and no lengths he wouldn't go to to keep her safe. He would without a doubt burn the world for her and lay anything she could ever possibly want at her feet. I really loved Dom, Coen and Mangus and Simon but shew Silver, Miller and Alec sure do give them a run for their money.
Just when I thought a book couldn’t get any better Luna Pierce writes this one!! I love her previous Dark Mafia books and reading Cora’s story was amazing. I could NOT put this book down! It has everything you could want and more, a great Heroine, a group of amazing guys you just want to love and a fantastic story! This book is spicy! Like 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ spicy. BookTok Babes will not be disappointed. If you like mafia romance, very spicy scenes with some adventurous moves than this is the one for you. You could read this as a stand-alone, but it’s more fun to have read Untamed Vixen and Villain Era first as there are characters from those books who pop up in this one. There are also a lot of serious topics and scenarios that could be triggering so make sure to check out the trigger warnings list if that might be an issue for you. That being said there is an HEA and it’s totally worth the journey to get there. This books is a gem!! Can’t wait for her next one.
It took me a while to get this review out! I had to read it twice. It’s such a good story and the heat in this book 🔥. From start to finish, you get spice and action. Cora is really going through it. I feel like in June’s books you have a completely different view of Cora and her life, and it is nothing compared to what she is actually going through. I loved all the guys! I couldn’t pick a favorite, which is so rare for me. They are all protective and perfect for her in every way. I mean the opening in this story was so good! I’m glad everything worked out for them in the end, and they really figured it out without involving June and the guys, which was great. I hope we find out what happens with London soon cause I am rooting for a happy ending for her! Great story!!
I'm speechless. Damn this book was sooooo effing good. So hot. Sizzling brownie points I tell you. And wow the steamy scenes? Those were what I lived for. Luna really did it! Can't wait to read more of her 💕🤭
Ever since reading June’s book I was so hopeful Cora would be getting her own and it lived up to every expectation and more! Plus getting to see little snippets of June and her men was a nice bonus; Magnus being Magnus is always a delight. I love how in Luna’s books that the guys might already know each other but sharing a relationship was never something on the cards previously yet it’s written in a way that doesn’t seem unlikely. Cora goes on such a journey through this book of self discovery, finding her self worth and love and the guys are the perfect support for her through it. The books almost therapeutic in getting to see justice delivered to those who hurt her in a way that doesn’t happen for most survivors in real life. Speaking of the men; love them. Fantastically written morally grey characters with distinctive personalities and quirks rather than the flat single personality trait copies that seem to occur sometimes in dark romance. Sure there’s a bunch of red flags but as Cora says “red always was my favourite colour” The storyline had me gripped from the first page and I couldn’t wait to see how things panned out.
Firstly, thank you to Luna for this Arc. Secondly, this book. This book was a character driven story that balances both plot and spice in a way that I have not seen in a lot of dark romance books. Cora's story is gripping from the first page. A Sunshine character with a hidden darkness that fights against her own hidden demons. Without giving the plot away, we go on a journey of self-love, survival, and acceptance of one-self, with a narrative that champions empowerment and autonomy. We have three amazing, and distinctive, morally grey MMCs. Each bringing someone that Cora didn't know she needed, while they each support and empower Cora in their own unique way. I also loved how consent was the main micro-trope and theme throughout the book. This truly was a love letter to women, to survivors, and exemplifies that self-love is the most beautiful thing. I thoroughly recommend this book to Lovers of dark Mafia, why choose romance. Bonus, the three MMCs each have golden retriever qualities that come about in different ways. I loved it.
