Salvatore: a Dark Mafia Romance (Benedetti Brothers Book 1)
Lucia It all started with a contract signed by him, then by me, while our families watched. While my father sat silent, a man defeated, giving his daughter to the Benedetti monsters. I obeyed. I played my part. I signed my name and gave away my life. I became their living, breathing trophy, a constant symbol of their power over us. That was five years ago. Then came the time for him to claim me. For Salvatore Benedetti to own me. I had vowed vengeance. I had learned hate. And yet, nothing could have prepared me for the man who now ruled my life. I expected a monster, one I would destroy. But nothing is ever black or white. No one is either good or evil. For all his darkness, I saw his light. For all his evil, I saw his good. As much as he made me hate him, a passion hotter than the fires of hell burned inside me. I was his, and he was mine. My very own monster. Salvatore I owned the DeMarco Mafia Princess. She belonged to me now. We had won, and they had lost. And what better way to teach a lesson than to take from them that which is most precious? Most beloved? I was the boy who would be king. Next in line to rule the Benedetti Family. Lucia DeMarco was the spoils of war. Mine to do with as I pleased. It was my duty to break her. To make her life a living hell. My soul was dark, I was hell bound. And there was no way out, not for either of us. Because the Benedetti family never lost, and in our wake, we left destruction. It’s how it had always been. How I believed it would always be. Until Lucia.

Why You'll Love This
This is by far the most refreshing mafia romance I’ve ever read. It’s not too dark, the eroticism is there, the romance is there, the family feud is there, the interactions among the characters are very good, and the structure of words and sentences that she crafted are just very good. I love the way the author develops its plot and how she brings us smoothly to understand what’s happening, what happened, and what’s about to happen. It’s very good foreshadowing and not just shoving the words to the readers. Readers are being asked to think and also guess the more we read. It’s what I think a product of an experienced and a very well educated author. They said, to be a good author, you have to be a good reader and read many books so you can write well. This is this level. Because many mafia romance books, I found that the writings are very basic and many times are not good at words craftsmanship. But why not 5 stars??? From the first word I read on this book, I’ve been hooked up. Can’t put it down at all. It gets intense and emotional. However, the last 2 chapter before the epilogue, things are too downgraded. I mean, it’s like the anti climax is not satisfying. I love the drama when the male character is almost dead, but I don’t think after that, I can still get the story hooked up to me as amazing as the previous chapters. I also think the way The main characters reveal their love as in saying “I love you” is too basic, too casual. I just don’t find the sacred of this “love”. I see that through their care and make love and etc... they do show the love. But I just don’t get the feeling, that moment that I’ve been waiting when they declare their love in words. It seems to me just like another conversation of the day. I also don’t feel like the solution to the story, this whole big mafia plot is adequate. Yes, I know the author wants to slip her own message about life as how she sees it. But, I don’t feel that amazing feeling when she ended the story that way. I mean, she made a very good plot of a mafia. Very serious situation. Then, suddenly providing such solution as if the male character is just another rich guy who can just let go everything and live in a country side. It just doesn’t touch me at all as a reader. It doesn’t satiate my thirst of a great HEA. Yes, it’s HEA but I just don’t get the feeling. It’s what I can call “mediocre ending but stunning beginning”. Which you see how downhill is that? It should be a stunning ending despite whatever the beginning is!
Gosh, what can I say. This is the first one of Natasha Knight's books I read and I immediately read Dominic and then Sergio after that. I'm reading Killian now. Very good writing, not as much steam as I thought, Dominic has way more shocking sex scenes (beware on that one). I loved Lucia's grit and I loved how Salvatore saw her. I love books with the male point of view. Oh and the covers are why I actually read it, what a great sexy cover! All of them have great covers though really. I love mafia stories, the stanch strong masculine man who takes no prisoners and loves hard. This series is great and Natasha portrays all of the emotion in her words so very well. Read it!
My first by this author and I seriously cannot wait to read more.Salvatore Benedetti is perfection in all the wrong ways and the good and is impossible to put down this addicting book where these characters just draw every emotion and I loved the interaction between the two and the strength Lucia had to defend herself in the most horrid situation anyone can face alone. The chemistry that they draw out of each other is electrifying and in a way they can save each other from their fate that they are forced to face, with the secondary characters taking on a huge role in the story that try to define them and tell them what they should be and how to do it,and had me cheering in their corner hoping for the best.I loved every page.
This is a really good read from Natasha Knight. A 'mafia' book where nothing is as it first appears. Lucia at the age of 16 is given by contract to Salvatore by her father. Five years later at her fathers funeral, Salvatore 'claims' her and she is far from happy about it. Lucia knows she should hate him, he's a monster - right? This quickly becomes a smokin hot love story of two people who are trapped by their way of life. Lucia may be young a naive but she wants Salvatore even though she tries to deny it to herself. Their story is told against a backdrop of two mafia families at war and the hurt and betrayal of old grievances. Salvatore is a real page turner and the twists and turns keep coming as the story unfolds. Hopefully we will have more of the Benedetti Brothers soon.
If you enjoy your guys being of the dark side and your girls being sweet but sassy you will find this a great read
