Where's Molly
βMolly Devereaux has been missing for more than two weeks, and police are still searching for the girl who seemed to vanish out of thin air. The world still wants to know... Where's Molly?β In my dreams, I never escaped the Oregon woods. Life after death isn't easy to accept, especially when I still feel like a ghost. Now, I live deep in the mountains of Montanaβthe paradigm of beauty. But they are also the home of horrors. Horrors that I only unleash at night. When my pigs are allowed to feast. It is strongly recommended to read Haunting Adeline and Hunting Adeline before reading Where's Molly. Warning: This is a dark romance that contains dark subject matter. Why You'll Love This
Genre/Trope: Dark Romance Book Type: Standalone, but connected to a series. Book Length: Shorter Novel POV: Alternating Dual Setting: Montana Male MC: Cage Everhart is a talented man who helps people escape painful pasts and start anew. He is intelligent, charming, funny, incredibly sweet but also has a darker side that wants to ensure justice is served to people who harm others. Cageβs age ranges from 27-36 and he has dark brown hair and forest-green eyes. Female MC: Molly Devereaux was sold to human traffickers when she was 20 by her disgusting father. She escaped the house of horrors to begin her life on the run after encountering a mysterious man. She grew into a very resourceful woman and learned to cope with her pain and abuse by ridding the world of evil men and women with the help of some very hungry pigs on her farm. Mollyβs age ranges from 20-34; she is tall with dark brown curly hair, emerald-green eyes and has several bite marks scarring her body and face. Endearment: Little Ghost and Baby Spice Level: Medium Frequency of Spice: Low/Medium Angst Level: Low Cliffhanger: No My Review: I was so excited to read Mollyβs book once I heard it was coming out. She is the young girl who wrote in the journal that Addie finds in the Cat and Mouse duet. Mollyβs story was dark, but not overly such. We donβt get a ton of details about her time in captivity, and that was honestly fine with me. This story was about Mollyβs journey afterward, how she met Cage, and then reconnecting 9 years later with him again. I loved her and Cage together so much. He was a light in her very dark world and he provided a kindness and protectiveness that helped her heal old wounds and learn to trust her heart and love again. Cage was funny and so charming and I adored him for her. I would have liked the book to be a little bit longer, only because these two were perfect for each other and I just wanted to stay in their orbit forever.
When I heard H.D. Carlton was writing another book in the same time and realm of Haunting Adeline I knew I was going to stop all books I was reading when it came out. I absolutely loved her other books and knew that this book was going to knock me off my feet. But, like her other books make sure that you read the trigger warnings because she doesn't go easy on her characters. Now, we hear about Molly in the other book (hence why you need to read those books first) and you hear what horrors Molly went through in the previous book. But you don't know the why or how she was placed in the same house. In this book you hear the backstory and I loved how H.D. Carlton was using the history through out the whole story. She wrote it in a way where it only added to what was happening to Molly and Cage. Though, I wish I knew more of Cage history but you do get glimpse of his history as well. I felt like the two characters were well rounded. You see some light humor in the way they treated each other but also see how their history shaped them in who they are. I didn't feel a lot of connection between the two characters as much as I am used to in romance books. But I didn't feel like it was lacking when I read it. I think because both characters had a lot of traumatic past I felt like they would be holding back. The plot in this story is great. It's not as intense as Haunting Adeline and Hunting Adeline but it did have seems where you are questioning yourself. The smut scenes in this book are amazing and intense but don't take away from the story just adds to it. Also I absolutely loved Cage's mom and I would only hope I would be half as a good mom as she is to her son. I can't wait to read more books by H.D. Carlton and I hope she writes books for a long time coming.
I want MORE and MORE and MORE!! This is a spinoff of the Cat & Mouse Duet, so please don't start this before you read at least this 2 books (3 would be better as the Satan's Affair is belong to the series)! I'm absolutely in love with this book! I devoured it! I need to say, it was so long time ago, when a book kept me on my edge. I had to wipe the tears down from my face and my eyes to be able to continue reading. I love Molly. She is strong and yes, inspiring. After all those things happened to her, she didn't forget how to be human and caring. She survived so much things. Her love for Layla is amazing, even after all those years when she couldn't be with her, nothing changed. She never will be the old herself, but she doesn't have to. She found a new version on herself and this is what's matter. I'm really happy for her! But on the ther side, I'm sad, coy I finished her story. I just hope, the spinoffs will come sooner than later. (I know-I know, Where's Molly was just released on 16th of February, I'm not moaning, just in love with these books) I swear to - basically everything - that there is no word to clarify how much I love them. I'm hoping we get another glimpse of them, maybe in another spin off?
The story is set in the present with flashbacks of the past, to slowly bring the reader the necessary knowledge to learn about the characters . The expertly balanced events keep the attention alive, making you guess what comes next and what happened previously. Told in dual POV, the two main characters are so enticing, two magnets impossible to resist. The lyrical writing beats the tempo to a crescendo of emotions.
Oh my god... this book was freaking amazing π€©. The storyline was perfect and I couldn't stop smiling, crying and getting emotional while reading this. ππ₯Ήπ¦ππ». . And Cage Everhart... π₯΅π§π»βοΈ he is everything. His relationship with Molly.. β¨οΈπ¦β¨οΈπ¦β¨οΈ. He is my new obsession π . Totally worth it and highly recommend ππ»π―
HD Carlton is the type of author to leave you horried, make you cry, and make you feel all warm with her stories. She did this perfectly well with this book. It was so well written that when reading it I didn't even realise I had almost finished reading it in one sitting, that's how engaged you become with the characters that you lose track of everything around you and that is absolutely what you want in a book, to hook, line and sink you. I give credit to the MF for being strong headed even when life kept knocking her down she never gave up. That's five stars right there for me. The MM, Omg, I absolutely adore him. He's everything you'd want in a man after being dealt the cards the MF had. He's absolute Perfection. I also loved the crossover, it had me crying and gave me closure I didn't know I needed, so don't forget, there's an Epilogue not to be missed. Thanks again HD Carlton for yet another story living rent free in my mind!
